Q & A: Medical Conditions

Q. A parent that I am sponsoring was asked to do additional medical examinations due to a small kidney stone? Might this result in inadmissibility?

Answer: I would not expect such a condition, unless representative of a larger problem, to critically affect admissibility.

Determination of medical admissibility, however, is made by a Medical Officer in consideration of all available information. It is not possible to absolutely determine this in advance.

If the condition does not pose a threat of excessive demand of the Canadian health-care system, then it should not be grounds for inadmissibility.
