David’s Blog: Kudos to Quebec

At exactly this time last year, I wrote an open letter on this blog titled ‘Children Belong in School’.  In this letter, addressed to the Quebec Cabinet Ministers of Immigration and Education, Kathleen Weil and Yves Bolduc, I lamented Quebec’s wayward policy whereby only legal residents and certain categories of immigrants could receive free public education.

This policy has left an unknown number of already vulnerable undocumented children in a precarious position.

After the open letter was published both ministers responded with promised action. Fortunately, things appear to be looking better twelve months on. >>Read more . . .
