CIC News
Published: January 19, 2016

Winter is a beautiful time to be in Canada. Sure, it can get a little cold in places, but it also presents an opportunity to explore the country in all its glory. There are endless winter festivals across the land, people get out and play hockey or go skiing, while others use the season to take a trip through the country.

Our new social media cover photos show just one snapshot of the joy of a Canadian winter. Just remember to bring your hat, scarf, and gloves!

Even if you're not in Canada right now, perhaps by the time next winter rolls around you can be well on your way to beginning a new life in Canada.

2015 saw the arrival of the Express Entry immigration selection system, a fresh new Quebec Skilled Worker Program, changes to family sponsorship, and a huge increase in attention to refugee cases. 2016 promises change from a new government of Canada that views immigration as a positive force.
