The 93rd Manitoba PNP draw took place on July 2.

A total of 125 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued by Manitoba to immigration candidates.

The purpose of LAAs is to invite candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada.

LAAs were issued to Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) candidates under the following streams:

The ranking score of the lowest-ranked invited candidate under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream was 475. It was 816 for invited candidates under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream.

Ten candidates had profiles in the federal Express Entry system.

Manitoba has issued LAAs to 2,460 candidates in 2020.

How Manitoba's system works

Immigration candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the province if they wish to receive an LAA under either of the Skilled Workers in Manitoba or Skilled Workers Overseas streams.

Candidates are assessed on human capital factors such as their language skills, work experience, education, Manitoba ties, and other factors. They are ranked out of 1,000 points.

Candidates under the Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams help the province address its economic needs.

If a candidate is overseas, they need to show they have ties to Manitoba, such as having close family or friends in the province. Previous Manitoba living experience or an invitation under one of the province's Strategic Recruitment Initiatives can also make a candidate eligible.

These individuals do not need to be living in the province when they submit their application.

To be eligible under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, you must meet criteria such as having a full-time and permanent offer of employment within Manitoba.

To receive an LAA through the International Education Stream, a candidate must meet criteria such as being a graduate of an educational institution in Manitoba.
