Q & A: Returning Resident Permit Refusal
Q. My family got PR and landed in Canada. Because I have not finished my Ph.D. degree, I applied for RRP in Bonn. In my application I showed a proof from my professor. He wrote that I will finish my degree till 30th. Sept. 1999. However, our application is refused. Please tell me what I should do.
Answer: Refusals of RRP applications are increasingly common where the applicant has not resided within Canada for a sufficient period of time to have developed firm ties. The refusal of such an application does not necessarily affect a PR's status within Canada.
